As part of the 6th edition of the Dutch Veterans’ Day on the 25th of June, the theme “Homage to the Veterens” has been applied by the Sand Academy to the annual sand sculptures. Through this theme, the organisation wishes to draw even more attention from a wider public to the role of the Veterans.

A focus on the Veterans
The organisers wish to draw even more attention from a wider public to the role of the Veterans, who were deployed in the name of peace, in Dutch Society. Furthermore, the sculptures will contribute to reinforcing The Hague’s image as International City of Peace and Justice, which again fits in perfectly with the slogan of The Hague Festivals: feel free to celebrate!

The sculptures will be built from 17 to 27 May and will remain standing during the entire period of The Hague Festivals.
